FALMOUTH TOWN 4-1 DIDCOT TOWN

FALMOUTH TOWN 4-1 DIDCOT TOWN

Falmouth Town made it four wins from four in this one-sided Southern League encounter against mid-table Didcot Town at a wet and windy Bickland Park.

Falmouth dominated from the start but had to wait until 22 minutes to take the lead. It was in-form striker Rubin Wilson who scored his 5th goal in four games, shrugging off his defender before steering the ball inside the post past Didcot keeper Bedwell.

Didcot equalised on 27 minutes from a rare attack when new signing  Dan Warre capitalised on a defensive mistake.

However, the home side deservedly went in at half-time leading after Luke Barner found Olly Walker at the far post to smash the ball past Bedwell.

The second half started in similar fashion with Falmouth dictating the play, They finally put the game to bed after goals from Jared Sims  after 83 minutes and Luke Barner at the 90 minute mark with the pitch almost unplayable.

Star Man:  Luke Barner (Falmouth Town)

Thanks must go to the ground staff and volunteers, whose work yesterday made it possible for the game to go ahead today.

WILLAND ROVERS 0-1 FALMOUTH TOWN

Falmouth Town gained another valuable three points with a 1-0 win over Willand Rovers in the first Southern League match of 2025.

Rubin Wilson’s seventy-first minute goal was sufficient to secure the win, but not before Willand were reduced to nine men, with straight reds for River Allen and Finley Rooke. Eathan Fearn played in goal for Morgan Coxhead who was unavailable. The Man of the Match was awarded to Harrison Jewell.

This result leaves us seventeenth in the league table as we return to Bickland Park on Saturday, January 4th, when we entertain Didcot Town.
