Tom Annear reached a milestone 250th appearance for Falmouth Town in our 1-0 win at home to Tavistock on Tuesday, August 13th. Tom joined the club in 2020, when we were in the South West Peninsula League and has played a major role in our journey to the Southern League. Congratulations and thanks Tom! Falmouth Town’s encounter with Willand Rovers was very much a game of two halves at Bickland Park today as we went in at half-time 3 up against a 10 man Willand, only to concede three after the break resulting in an entertainng 3-3 draw. For the full story of this game, CLICK HERE.

Falmouth Town will host Willand Rovers in our second Southern League match at Bickland Park on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 – K.O. 3:00pm. Willand Rovers are a well established Southern League club, having been members since 2019, when they were promoted as Western League champions.
Willand’s recent results have included two league draws against Helston Athletic and Bemerton Heath Harlequins, as well as a 2-0 win over AFC St Austell and a 2-2 draw at Mousehole in the FA Cup. Willand Rovers booked their place in the next round with a 1-0 win over Mousehole in the replay on Wednesday, August 21st.
We come into this game with a 1-0 win in the league against Tavistock, a 5-0 win over Torpoint and a 4-1 defeat at Barnstaple Town in the FA Cup.
So let’s get a big crowd at Bickland Park for the Willand Rovers game as we continue our Southern League campaign.

Falmouth Town will be on the road with a visit to Bashley on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 – K.O. 3:00pm. This game was due to be our first Southern League game, but was unfortunately postponed due problems with Bashley’s pitch.
Bashley gained promotion to the Southern League at the end of the 2021/22 season from the Wessex League Premier Division, after an absence of six years. Previous to this, Bashley were members of the Southern League from 1989 to 1999, when they were transferred to the Isthmian League, where they spent two seasons. Bashley were then transferred back to the Southern League where they remained until the end of the 2015/16 season, when they were relegated to the Wessex League.
So we can expect a very competitive game with a well seasoned Step 4 club. This will be our third game in the Southern League, and our first away match following games against Willand Rovers and Tavistock at Bickland Park.

Falmouth Town bowed out of the 2024/25 FA Cup in a 4-1 defeat at Barnstaple Town on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Town’s only goal came from an Oscar Massey penalty. We would like to wish Barnstaple Town the best of luck in the next round and for the rest of the season. Our attention now turns to the Southern League and the FA Trophy.
Falmouth Town’s very own Tommy Matthews is planning to launch his new book at our Southern League home fixture to Bashley on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at Bickland Park. ‘A Game of Two Halves – The Tommy Matthews Story’ charts Tommy’s life in football, as a player, coach and manager. The book, priced at £5, is being sold in aid of Cancer Research UK and Tommy will be signing copies on the day. More on the details of this event nearer the time. Falmouth Town will be in FA Cup action when we visit Barnstaple Town on Saturday, August 17th, 2024 – K.O. 3:00pm. We come into this game on the back of our win over 5-0 Torpoint Athletic and our 1-0 league victory over Tavistock. Barnstaple Town beat Helston Athletic in the previous round, drawing the first game at Mill Road after coming from behind to take the lead, only for Helston to equalise. The replay at Kellaway Park was a more straight forward affair, with Barnsatple Town running out 2-0 winners. Last season we played Barnstaple Town four times, once in the FA Vase, twice in the Western League and the playoff semi-final, resulting in us gaining three wins and a draw.
