FALMOUTH TOWN SIGNS FRED WALTER

FALMOUTH TOWN SIGNS FRED WALTER

Falmouth Town are pleased to confirm the signing of defender Fred Walter.

Walter joins from St Blazey having previously played for Helston Athletic and Wendron United. With James Ward moving onto Mousehole and Tom Fisher out with a broken ankle, Walter’s arrival will help bring a solid presence to strengthen Town’s back line.

Walter told falmouthtownafc.co.uk;

“I’ve always admired Falmouth Town and their fans. I’ve always said to myself I want to play the highest level possible.”

“I’m a hard working and honest player on and off the pitch. I’ll give everything for the club, management and team mates.”

“I hope I can establish myself and Falmouth at Southern League level.”

Manager Andrew Westgarth said;

“I have been a long time admire of Fred over the years and tried to sign him when he left Helston but he felt he needed regular game time and choose to move to St Blazey instead.
Another player who fits the profile perfectly, young, local, hungry to play and test himself at this level. Fred can play anywhere across the back line so I’m delighted to get him in.”

CORNISH SIGNS FOR FALMOUTH TOWN

CORNISH SIGNS FOR FALMOUTH TOWN

Falmouth Town are pleased to confirm the signing of forward Kai Cornish.

Cornish, joins from local rivals Helston Athletic, having just won the Western League title with the blues and gaining promotion along with Falmouth Town to the Southern League.

Kai Cornish becomes our first signing of the season.

“The club has a great history and it’s got a great fan base, having played against them quite a few times in big occasions over the last few seasons it’s exciting to have their support for the season.” Cornish told falmouthtownafc.co.uk

“When I spoke to Westy, I felt this was the right place for me to develop my game and help the team achieve its goals”

“As a winger, I think I can bring a lot of pace and creativity to the team. I love taking on defenders and creating opportunities. I’m also committed to tracking back and helping out defensively, so I aim to contribute on both ends of the pitch”

“I hope to help the team establish ourselves in the Southern League and to hopefully lift some silverware in the process”

“Kai is a player I have tracked and admired for a number of years and shown interest in but for what ever reason a move has never materialised”, first-team manager Andrew Westgarth said. “He fits the profile perfectly for us. A local lad, great age, an eye for goal. Hopefully he can continue where he left off at Helston and be a real success at Falmouth Town”
