FALMOUTH TOWN 0-0 WESTBURY UNITED

Falmouth Town and Westbury United battled it out for 90 freezing minutes, with the game ending 0-0 in tonight’s Southern League encounter. The first half started with Westbury putting Falmouth under pressure and winning quite a few early corners. Falmouth responded created some good scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net. Overall the first half was a fairly even affair with both sides applying plenty of pressure and creating chances.

The second half saw Town start to dominate the game and created some good chances in the Westbury box. Despite winning many corners, Westbury defended their goal and still looked dangerous on the break. The game ended with six minutes of extra time being played and both sides with a point.

FALMOUTH TOWN 0-1 MELKSHAM TOWN

FALMOUTH TOWN 0-1 MELKSHAM TOWN

Falmouth Town slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat in a very even Southern Leauge encounter, where it was visitors Melksham Town who emerged victorious with a goal in the last couple of minutes being the difference between the two sides.

Falmouth were on top in the first half with some great build-up play and on 30 minutes, a mistake at the back from Melksham let in Falmouth’s Luke Barner. Carrying the ball from near the halfway line, and with only the keeper to beat, he lifted his effort over the bar and the half finished goal-less.

The 2nd half saw a bit more pressure from Melksham but it looked like Falmouth would hold on, only for them to concede a free kick from outside the box. A fierce strike from Jake Andrews resisted a hand from Morgan Coxhead in the Falmouth goal and flew into the top corner to seal the win for Melksham, when a draw would have been the fairer result.
