HELSTON ATHLETIC 2-1 FALMOUTH TOWN

Falmouth Town and Helston Athletic battled it out for the full ninety minutes in front of big crowd of around six-hundred, in the this Southern League local derby. Helston took the lead just after the break through Aaron Bentley. Luke Barner equalised for Town just seven minutes later, before Jacob Smith restored Helston’s lead two minutes after that. Falmouth Town and Bideford AFC shared the points last night after the game at Bickland Park ended in a two all draw. The first goal came after just six minutes, with Bideford’s Archie Reay finding the back of the net. Town fought back hard and it was Luke Barner who levelled the the score just before the break.

The second half started lively with both sides playing some good football. It was Oscar Massey who broke the deadlock with a strike on eighty minutes, which sent the home crowd into rapturous celebrations. However, there was one more twist when Bideford’s Aaron Taylor scored from close range into the corner of the net in the 87th minute.

We now look forward to our trip to Bishops Cleeve on Saturday, October 26th as we continue our Southern League campaign.

Falmouth Town took a big step towards promotion to the Southern League tonight with a stunning 3-1 victory over Barnstaple Town at Bickland Park. Falmouth Town’s goals came from Luke Brabyn, Oscar Massey and Rubin Wilson. Our Man of the Match award goes to Tom Annear. Credit must go to Barnstaple Town who provided competitive opposition. The result means we will now play Clevedon Town in the playoff final on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 – K.O. 3:00pm at Bickland Park. We can expect another exciting encounter between two of the Western League’s top clubs.

Falmouth Town finished our second Toolstation Western League season with a 1-0 win over Oldland Abbotonians at Bickland Park this afternoon. The only goal came from an Oscar Massey penalty in the final minutes of injury time. Oscar Massey was also awarded Man of the Match. This confirms our runners up place with 76 points from 34 games. We now look forward to the playoffs, with our semi final game against Barnstaple Town on Tuesday, April 30th – K.O. 7:45pm at Bickland Park. We are now just two games from promotion to the Southern League.

Falmouth Town took another step towards the Toolstation Western League title tonight with a stunning 4-0 victory over visitors Ilfracombe Town. The goals came from Bradley Leivers, Cameron Hutchinson, Oscar Massey & Luke Brabyn. We now look forward to our away game at Kellaway Park where we take on Helston Athletic on Thursday, April 18th. Falmouth Town took another step towards the Toolstation Western League title with a 1-0 win over Wellington this evening. The only goal came from Tom Annear in the 87th minute, who was also awarded Man of the Match. This leaves us in second place with 69 points from 29 games, level with league leaders Helston Athletic who have 69 points from 28 games, but lead on goal difference. This result ensures us at least a place in the promotion play-offs. This promises to be an exciting run in to end of the season.
