FALMOUTH TOWN 1-0 OLDLAND ABBOTONIANS

Falmouth Town finished our second Toolstation Western League season with a 1-0 win over Oldland Abbotonians at Bickland Park this afternoon. The only goal came from an Oscar Massey penalty in the final minutes of injury time. Oscar Massey was also awarded Man of the Match. This confirms our runners up place with 76 points from 34 games. We now look forward to the playoffs, with our semi final game against Barnstaple Town on Tuesday, April 30th – K.O. 7:45pm at Bickland Park. We are now just two games from promotion to the Southern League.

Falmouth Town will welcome Oldland Abbotonians to Bickland Park on Saturday, April 27th for what will be our last league fixture for the 2023/24 season. Our last match at Oldland ended in a 1-1 draw, so we’ll looking for the win this time and the three points. We go into this game on the back of our 4-2 victory over Newquay on Wednesday, April 24th in the Cornwall Senior Cup semi-final at Blaise Park. We now look forward to the league play-offs and the big prize of promotion to the Southern League. We hope to see a big crowd at Bickland Park to support the team. 50:50 Draw:

A collection for the 50:50 draw will be made during the first half, with the winning ticket announced over the PA system at half-time. Each entry to the draw costs £1.

Refreshments and Facilities:

Once inside Bickland Park, food and beverages can be purchased from the serving hatch immediately to your left upon entering the ground.

Toilets can be found inside the clubhouse and in the toilet block next to the main grandstand.

Seating is available in the grandstand, with disabled access provided via a separate entrance at the top of the steps alongside the back row.

SHEPTON MALLET 2-0 FALMOUTH TOWN

Falmouth Town fell to a 2-0 defeat at Shepton Mallet on Saturday after an intense week of football, where we played four games in eight days. This does not mean our season is over, far from it, we now turn to Cornwall Senior Cup semi-final action on Wednesday, April 26th, when we take on Newquay and our final league match at Bickland Park on Saturday, April 27th when we host Oldland Abbotonians. These will be followed by the potentially the two biggest games of our season, the Western League play-offs, where the prize is promototion to the Southern League. So plenty of football to enjoy!

Falmouth Town took another step towards the league title with a 1-1 draw away at Oldland Abbotonians. Our goal came from Luke Barner in the first half, with Oldland equallising early in the second half. This leaves us top of the table with 70 points from thirty games. Falmouth Town continue our league title challenge when we travel to Oldland Abbotonians in South Gloucestershire on Saturday, April 13th – K.O. 3:00pm. We go into this fixture on the back of our recent wins over Wellington (A), Clevedon Town (H) and Welton Rovers (A). On Thursday, April 11th, Oldland were involved in a 3-3 draw home to Wellington. This is the first time we will play Oldland Abbotonians this season. We are currently second in the Toolstation Western League, behind leaders Helston Athletic on goal difference.
