FALMOUTH TOWN 1-2 BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS

FALMOUTH TOWN 1-2 BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS

Falmouth Town lost yet another game by the odd point in this encounter at a wet and windy Bickland Park, entertaining visitors Bemerton Heath Harlequins, who sat just outside of the play-off positions, Falmouth took the lead on 40 minutes after a free kick was cleared to captain Tom Annear, who swung a powerful cross deep into the Bemerton box where Cam Hutchison arrived to steer a firm header past Bemerton keeper Benjamin Taylor.

The home side could not take the lead into the break as 3 minutes later, Harlequins levelled from a long free kick controversially taken 10 yards ahead of an offside offence. The ball being played into the Falmouth box where it fell to Brad Waters to beat Coxhead in the Town goal.

Bemerton started to dominate after the break and they made it 2-1 on 49 minutes when debutant Gregory Borthwick converted after a goalmouth scramble .

Bemerton used all their experience to run the clock down and survived some periods of pressure and Falmouth half-chances but, consistent with our lowly league position, Falmouth didn’t get the breaks and it was an away win for the Harlequins.
