FALMOUTH GET DUFFED UP – MARTYN JOINS THE TOWN!

Falmouth Town are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Martyn Duff.

Prior to St Austell Duff enjoyed a successful spell at Falmouth having won the Cornwall Senior Cup in the 2-1 win over Saltash United in 2019.

Duff becomes our first signing of the season.

“It just feels like the right decision to come back to Falmouth Town. It’s a massive club and I’ve got great memories of my first stint here with great teammates, people behind the scenes and the awesome F-Troop” Duff told falmouthtownafc.co.uk . “I want to be apart of that again and push myself and the club to achieve as much as we can”.

“Whoever I play for I’ll always give my all but I really feel I’ve developed a lot in the years I’ve been away. I’ve had the opportunity to play with and learn from some of the top players in Cornish Football and I feel I come back as a more well-rounded and mature player, capable of contributing in a range of positions”

“Great to have a player of Duffy’s stature back at the club”, first-team manager Andrew Westgarth said. “Having played for us before I know the qualities he can bring but definitely feel we have a better player then what we had at SWPL level for us. His professionalism will drive the group and will be a great addition”

Duff finished with “On a personal note, I want to push myself and see what I’m capable of in football. As a club, Falmouth Town has always been a club that has to be competing for and winning trophies. With all the recent success as well as the quality in the team, that has to be the aim once again this year. I hope to contribute to that in any way I can”.

NEW SIGNING – JACOB BOWKER JOINS FALMOUTH TOWN

Falmouth Town are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Jacob Bowker.

Jacob, son of ex Falmouth Town manager Andy joins from Tavistock having previously played for St Blazey, Ivybridge and Plymouth Argyle academy.

“It’s a great club, with a great atmosphere on match day. My dad Andy used to play here and loved his time at the club. I know a couple of the lads and of course Westy. So when I heard the offer it was hard to say no.” Bowker told falmouthtownafc.co.uk

“I believe I can bring a lot of calmness to the team in the way I play. Open up gaps in the opposition, create opportunities, being direct and bring a lot of energy.”

“My aim is to come here and help the team pick up as many points. They have been on a very good run of form since Christmas. So to chip in and help where I can is my main aim. And possibly even play-offs.”

“I’m never one to flood the squad but with a couple injuries and still close to twenty games to go it was important to strengthen the group for the run in. The last couple seasons our signings around and just after Xmas have really given us a bounce and helped us kick on.

Bowks is player that will get the supporters up on their feet with his attacking play. Looking forward to seeing what he can bring to this group” Andrew Westgarth told falmouthtownafc.co.uk
