FALMOUTH TOWN 1-0 HELSTON ATHLETIC

FALMOUTH TOWN 1-0 HELSTON ATHLETIC

Falmouth Town secured a hard fought victory over our near neighbours Helston Athletic in last night’s Southern League match. Local derbies are close fought games and this was no exception. While we dominated the first half, Helston’s well organised defence proved difficult to overcome. The teams went in at the break with the score at 0-0.

The second half was equally lively with both sides pressing each others defence. Town started to regain control and it was Luke Barner’s spectacular 89th minute goal which proved to sufficient to ensure we took all three points. There were eight minutes of added time and it was Tom Annear’s goal line clearance in the dying seconds of the match which prevented Helston from getting an equaliser.

Man of the Match: Luke Barner

We now turn our attention to our away trip to Westbury United on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025.
