CLUB STATEMENT – MALCOLM NEWLAND
Malcolm Newland has been an integral part of Falmouth Town Football Club for an incredible 50 years. From starting as a 10-year-old selling programmes, to serving as a committee member, chairman, barman, and director, Malcolm’s contributions have shaped the club in countless ways.
Alongside his unmistakable charisma and charm, Malcolm has dedicated the past two decades to ensuring our club operates smoothly, often single-handedly managing the day-to-day tasks to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Malcolm’s quirky personality and unwavering commitment have become synonymous with Falmouth Town, and we hold him in the highest regard for everything he has achieved. However, there comes a time when even the most dedicated among us need to slow down. While Malcolm isn’t ready to retire just yet, he is beginning the process of handing over some of his responsibilities.
This transition marks an exciting opportunity for Malcolm, who can enjoy more well-deserved downtime, and for the future growth of the club.
As many of you know, this season we welcomed new caterers, Dale and Amy (“Damys”), who also run their own business from the car park. After much discussion, Amy has kindly agreed to take on some of Malcolm’s daily duties.
With a strong background in hospitality management, Amy will work closely with Malcolm in the coming months, supporting him and learning the ropes of running the social aspects of Falmouth Town Football Club.
We hope you will join us in giving Amy a warm welcome as she settles into her new role. At the same time, we extend our deepest gratitude to Malcolm for his continued dedication to the club and all that he has done over the years.
Best regards,
Falmouth Town F.C.
